Cheapest grocery basket down by 3.4% in price in June

Average food prices went down in June for a second month in a row, the Pricer.lt price comparison portal said on Thursday.

In June, the cheapest grocery basket in Lithuanian supermarkets fell by 3.4% (EUR 2.63) in price from a month earlier, but grew by 7.4% over a year.

The Maxima supermarket chain was leader despite increasing its basket price by EUR 5.59, followed by e-Rimi which reduced the price by EUR 3.49.

Rimi climbed up to third place from fourth after reducing the price by EUR 2.89. It was followed by Norfa (with a EUR 7.37 drop in price).
