As a pharmaceutical wholesale distributor, AmerisourceBergen provides healthcare products, value-driving services and business solutions that improve access to care. Its Lithuania office will offer essential support across the expansive portfolio of AmerisourceBergen businesses. The company intends to recruit 200 positions in this location and invest up to 30 million euros over the next five years.
This expansion for AmerisourceBergen comes less than a year after World Courier successfully opened its transport facility. AmerisourceBergen, which was just ranked 10TH on the Fortune 500 list, will be located in the new Quadrum facility in the center of Vilnius at Konstitucijos Ave. 21.
Vilnius has been named one of the best locations for shared services and outsourcing for five years in a row by the annual Shared Services and Outsourcing Awards. Vilnius is the destination of choice for major companies such as Western Union, Nasdaq, Booking.com, Cognizant, IBM, and Moody’s. These companies have been lured by the city’s IT and infrastructure, favourable business environment and the ‘can-do’ attitude of the local and national government.
Welcoming AmerisourceBergen’s announcement, Lithuania’s Minister of Economy and Innovation Virginijus Sinkevičius said:
“In the past several months two of the top ten largest US companies decided to move their shared services to Lithuania. We are especially happy about AmerisourceBergen’s decision to expand their global business services centres in Lithuania. One could not wish for a better endorsement of Lithuania’s investment environment that sees increasingly more attention from US enterprises. In the nearest future, we will put more effort to turn this attention into even more investment projects in Lithuania".
