Based on information from the Lithuanian Center of Registers, the subsidiary, named SGD SPB, was founded on October 9 with an authorized share capital of 25,000 euros and Klaipedos Nafta CFO Jonas Lenksas as its CEO.
Orinta Barkauskaite, head of communications at Klaipedos Nafta, has confirmed that this is related to the company's ongoing negotiations with Brazil's Gas Natural Acu (GNA) on an operations and maintenance services agreement for a LNG terminal.
"Preparations are underway, and we cannot provide any further details until the negotiations have been completed," she told BNS in a comment.
In Brazil's new port of Acu, GNA is building two gas-fired power plants with a total capacity of 3 gigawatts (GW) and a LNG import terminal with a daily regasification capacity of 21 million cubic meters.
