"Today, a decision was made to propose to the government to allow the provision of services of outdoor ski runs," Interior Minister Agne Bilotaite told reporters after a meeting of the government's emergency commission.

Service providers will have to ensure that tickets are sold online and visitors are pre-registered, she said.

Economy Minister Ausrine Armonaite said the Cabinet is expected to decide on outdoor ski tracks later on Monday.

If ski centers are allowed to open, time slots will be restricted to two hours, she said.

On Wednesday, the Cabinet is expected to discuss a proposal to allow non-essential shops with direct access from the street and beauty salons to reopen, Health Minister Arunas Dulkys told the news conference.

As part of the nationwide lockdown, most shops and services are now closed in Lithuania and there are restrictions on people's movements and gatherings.

The lockdown has recently been extended until March 1.
