Residents’ outlook remains optimistic despite high inflation

Despite persistently high inflation rates, the financial situation of Lithuanians is not as bad as economists predicted at the beginning of this year, Statistics Lithuania said.

According to a survey carried out in November 2022, a large share of the respondents (45%) said that the financial situation of their households had remained unchanged over the year (there were 56% saying that in November 2021). Among those polled, 31% said that their financial situation had slightly worsened (as compared to 20% the year before), 8% of the respondents said that it had worsened significantly (3% the year before).
