Seimas Speaker: Taiwan invested in Lithuanian companies because of their competences

Speaker of the Seimas Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen disagrees with opposition lawmakers who call to probe alleged financial ties between coalition parties and companies that recently received Taiwanese investments.

“China is probably pleased by the statements of some of our opposition representatives. But seriously I think it would be enough for opposition politicians to simply invite representatives of companies that received the investments and to discuss their inventions, their work. I think this would dispel doubts because this is a matter of competence and these are the companies we can certainly be proud of. These are high technologies, which, I would say, make an impression not only in Lithuania but in the entire world,” Čmilytė-Nielsen said in an interview to the radio station Žinių radijas on Wednesday.
