World's largest LNG bunker vessel arrives in Klaipeda

The world's largest LNG bunker vessel, the Kairos, arrived in the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda for the fifth time over the weekend and is carrying out a reloading operation on Monday, Klaipedos Nafta, the operator of the local LNG terminal, told BNS Lithuania on Monday.

The Kairos arrived in Klapeda for the first time in early January and has since arrived in the port four times, including two in January and one in February and May.

The ship is owned by Babcock Schulte Energy (BSE), a joint venture between Babcock International Group and Bernhard Schulte, and is chartered by Blue LNG, a joint venture between Nauticor (90 percent) and Klaipedos Nafta (10 percent).

Klaipedos Nafta is currently seeling its Blue LNG stake to Nauticor. The two companies agreed in April that the shares would be transferred as of September 30 and Nauticor would become Blue LNG's sole shareholder.
