„Bearing in mind that some authorities in Lithuania are fulfilling their duty to warn politicians against all sorts of risks, (&) (the question arises – ELTA), when did it become known, did it turn out to be a problem, why was not the minister warned, why was not I warned that perhaps there are people in the minister’s circle who are posing reputational risks?“ Šimonytė asked rhetorically.

Asked if she implied the State Security Department (VSD), the prime minister refused to elaborate.

She noted that her impression was that the flight appears to be the problem and not the group of people who took it together.

„The problem seems to me to be the flight, not the company during it. (&) One thing that also puzzles me is the question of what the minister should have known about, let us say, the background of individual persons. I take the minister’s word for it that she did not know about the background of the widely discussed person,“ Šimonytė told reporters at the Seimas on Thursday.
