Lithuania invites tourists to try out new cold beetroot soup map

Dalius Morkvenas, head of Keliauk Lietuvoje (Lithuania Travel), a national tourism promotion agency in Lithuania, is inviting people to try out a freshly created cold beetroot soup map that, he says, is one of the ways to stimulate the tourism sector that's been badly affected by the coronavirus crisis.

"One of the fresh examples is the bold beetroot soup map we launched yesterday. It includes not only the traditional cold beetroot soup we eat probably every day, but also many variations and additional recipes," Morkvenas told a press conference on Wednesday.

"Taking advantage of this occasion, I am inviting everyone to visit the Keliauk Lietuvoje website and see what types of cold beetroot soup we have in Lithuania and can offer our people and foreign guests," he said.

The interactive maps includes 31 cafes and restaurants where one can taste different cold beetroot soups, including those made with cheese, raspberry beer, meet and mustard etc, as well as places where the traditional soup is served.
