Such a measure would provide considerable added value and benefit, acting Economy and Innovation Minister Zygimantas Vaiciunas says.
"The new measure we are creating, which would in fact be rather unique in Europe, would aim at promoting inbound tourism, i.e, to compensate for every third night spent by tourists," Vaiciunas told a press conference.
In his words, the ministry estimates that around 10,000 tourists could make use of the new measure.
The Lithuanian government has allocated 45 million euros to help the tourism sector, including 15 million euros to be spent on promoting inbound and local tourism.
