People marched in Vilnius calling for equality for LGBT community

Saturday, March 8th, the center of Vilnius colored in rainbow colors. It is expected that around 10 thousand people joined the 4th Baltic Pride event.

Usually called a Pride Parade the March for Equality was a celebration and also a protest for demanding equality for members of the LGBT community.



Last year, more than 8 thousand people attended the event in Riga, the capital of Latvia.

Baltic Pride is organized in Vilnius every three years.



The march started at the main entrance of the Bernardine Garden and proceded down to Gediminas Avenue and Lukiškės square.
