Photo of the week: Baltic heritage

This week, representatives from seven Baltic countries gathered in Vilnius to prepare a unified tourism project that would unite all of the UNESCO World Heritage sites found throughout these countries. This beautiful skyscape over the Baltic Sea near the Lithuanian town of Nida is just one of the sights one might expect to see when travelling along such a route.

“The idea is to develop a route of the world heritage sites in the Baltic Sea region, to make them more attractive to potential tourists, to highlight their values. People gathered mainly from the sectors of cultural tourism, will try to find some sort of common ideas,” Vilnius Old Town Renewal Agency architect Jūratė Raugalienė told Žinių radijas.

Nida and the Curonian spit are considered a UNESCO World Heritage site.
