"The fall is the time when people start planning for the festive period, therefore, we want to introduce Vilnius as a Christmas holliday destination. We are now in the process of selecting a website that will help our message to reach the German audience," Inga Romanovskiene, head of Vilnius Go, told BNS Lithuania.
She stressed that Germany is one of Vilnius' target markets for incoming tourism.
Vilnius Go has already called a tender to pick an agency to create an advertising and marketing campaign in the German market. The campaign should last two months, and its budget stands at around 30,000 euros.
Figures from Lithuania's statistics office, Statistics Lithuania, show almost 102,000 German tourists came to Vilnius last year, up 38 percent from 2017.
