Friday's Euroleague match between Zalgiris Kaunas and AX Armani Milan in Lithuania's second-biggest city will go ahead as planned and fans will be allowed to attend, the Lithuanian basketball club said on Thursday.
The Health Ministry has recommended that the match be postponed or played behind closed doors because of the coronavirus threat.
"We'll play with fans. We aren't considering playing without fans," Paulius Motiejunas, the club's director, said at a news conference on Thursday. "We'll take every precaution that's possible."
Motiejunas said it was impossible to postpone the game.
According to the director, most Italian fans opted not to travel to Kaunas for the match, so "there'll be none or very few of them".
Lithuanian fans may return their tickets for a refund, too, he added.
