Revita Janaviciute, a spokeswoman for the Police Department, told BNS on Monday that three people were fined in Silale, western Lithuania, for their failure to wear masks on public transport. Two people were fines at a shopping mall in Vilnius and another two at a pizzeria in Utena, northeastern Lithuania.
Moreover, nine people were also fined over the weekend for self-isolation violations.
People in Lithuania can receive fines ranging from 500 to 1,500 euros for failure to comply with the existing rules, and businesses can be fined 1,500-6,000 euros.
People must self-isolate in Lithuania upon arrival from countries with coronavirus rates exceeding 16 cases per population of 100,000.
