Bilotaitė does not rule out closure of border with Russia

In order to enhance border security and tackle cigarette smuggling, Lithuania temporarily closed two of its checkpoints on the border with Belarus starting Friday, leaving four operational. The interior minister has revealed that security threats are being analysed and under certain conditions Lithuania might completely close its border with Belarus and with Russia’s Kaliningrad region.
