Canada sends additional military equipment to Latvia

Additional military equipment and vehicles have arrived in Latvia from Canada, Latvian Minister of Defence Andris Spruds announced via social network X on Monday, also showing photos of multiple armoured fighting vehicles unloaded in a port.

The minister stated that this is a step towards NATO establishing a multinational brigade in Latvia. The brigade will consist of 3,500 troops and is expected to reach its full combat readiness in 2026.

„Latvia and Canada are united by close cooperation that confirms NATO’s readiness to protect every member state,“ the minister noted.
