Employers to be charged for mediation letters from August – migration authority

Companies willing to employ foreign nationals will need to pay a state fee for mediation letters required for issuing or amending a temporary residence permit or a national visa, the Migration Department said Friday. The fee will also be levied for applications to change the employer.

From 1 August, each completed electronic form will cost EUR 50.

Exceptions will be made in cases when foreign nationals come to Lithuania to work as lecturers or researchers.

To pay the state fee, the employer will need to fill in a special form in the Lithuanian Migration Information System MIGRIS, the authority said.
