EU Parliament approves von der Leyen’s Commission

The European Parliament has approved the new European Commission in a majority vote. The second Commission formed by Ursula von der Leyen was backed by 370 votes for, 282 against, and 36 abstentions on Wednesday.

Lithuania’s Andrius Kubilius, who was given a new portfolio of defence and space, and his 25 colleagues are to take office on 1 December.
