He hopes the incoming people will follow the recommendation to self-isolate for two weeks.
"Yes, it's really causing us that concern how everything will be, especially as we are well-aware of those countries. The only thing is that number will not be high. I believe employers themselves are interested in preventing such one person from infecting large groups of other employees," Veryga told a pres conference today. "We hope they will really follow our recommendations we will provide."
As Lithuania is se to lift the existing quarantine on June 17, workers with visas will be able to come from such countries like Ukraine, Russia and Belarus where the spread of the coronavirus is still raising concern.
Veryga says people arriving from these and other countries, where morbidity rates are high, will be recommended to self-isolate for two weeks but since the quarantine will be lifted, it will not be mandatory.
If the epidemiological situation changes and the number of coronavirus cases rises, the Lithuanian government might reintroduce restrictions and also introduce mandatory tests for incoming people.
