Kaunas Conservatives to hold extraordinary sitting amidst scandal over privatised land

The Homeland Union–Lithuanian Christian Democrats (TS-LKD) of the Kaunas City Municipal Council plan to convene an extraordinary sitting of the political group on Friday in response to recent media reports stating that City Council Member Šarūnas Matijošaitis, son of the Kaunas City mayor, used a scheme to purchase land in the most attractive locations of the city at the prices below market rates.

The TS-LKD Political Group in Kaunas City Municipality claims in its press release that it is willing to receive answers from the persons responsible as to the circumstances leading to this situation in the city and plans to address law enforcement authorities.
