Large fire extinguished at waste sorting facility in Vilnius

A large fire erupted at the Ecoservice waste sorting facility in Gariūnai, southwest Vilnius, on Saturday morning. Clouds of black smoke could be seen rising from the location for hours. The fire was localised the same day and extinguished on Sunday afternoon, but firefighters remained at the scene on Monday to put out small isolated fires that kept reigniting.
