Lithuania not yet considering boycotting of Paris Olympics if Russia is allowed to compete

President of the Lithuanian National Olympic Committee (LTOK) Daina Gudzinevičiūtė recently told reporters that it was too early to consider whether national Olympic committees might boycott the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris if Russia is allowed to participate despite its war against Ukraine. She said the International Olympic Committee (IOC) does not support the idea of the boycott, thus the LTOK is not considering this either.

In an interview to TV3 on Wednesday, Gudzinevičiūtė stated that at the General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and the Nordic countries stated that Russia should not be allowed to participate in the next Olympics. However, representatives from Africa and Asia have different opinion.
