Lithuania's 14-day case notification rate now exceeds 576 cases per 100,000 people, up by 36 cases from a week before.
Cyprus comes first in the EU with a 14-day case notification rate of 1,145, followed by Sweden with almost 692 and Croatia with 673 cases.
In terms of the 14-day death notification rate, Lithuania ranks 10th with around 67 COVID-19 deaths per million inhabitants.
Hungary tops the list with around 317 deaths, followed by Bulgaria with 271 and Poland with around 157 deaths.
Non-EU Iceland continued to fare the best among the EU/EEA countries monitored by the ECDC with around 42 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and no coronavirus-related deaths in the past 14 days.
In the EU, Finland and Portugal have the lowest 14-day COVID-19 case notification rate, at around 55 and 61 per 100,000 people respectively, and Portugal reported three deaths and Finland recorded four.
