Lithuania to set up Green Finance Institute

The Ministry of Finance said on Monday that Lithuania is to set up a Green Finance Institute for the smooth transition to a green economy, efficient use of renewable energy resources and to become a regional leader in the field of green finance.

The ministry plans that by 2030, the transition to a green economy will require at least EUR 14 billion, of which nearly EUR 10 billion are to be covered by public funds, mobilising another EUR 4 billion from private investors.
