The minister told reporters Thursday that she handed in her resignation letter to Šimonytė on 17 May and the decision is now in the prime minister’s hands.

“I have never clung to this position. I am not one of those people. Those who know me are well aware that work, changes, education is the most important for me,” stated Šiugždinienė.
