MP: tens of thousands of Lithuanians would be ready for civil resistance

Chairman of the Seimas Committee on National Security and Defence Laurynas Kasčiūnas says thousands of Lithuanians would be ready for civil resistance in case of a threat to national security.

According to the MP, several organisations carry out exercises and courses preparing citizens both for armed and unarmed resistance, whereas several tens of thousands of people are part of the Armed Forces. However, he believes that Lithuania should have a more ambitious vision as regards civil resistance.
