Nausėda appoints new education and social ministers

President Gitanas Nausėda has appointed Radvilė Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė as minister of education, science and sport and Vytautas Šilinskas as minister of social security and labour. Nausėda signed the respective decrees on Thursday morning, his office reported.

Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė nominated the two politicians for the roles last Friday. The president held a meeting with the candidates on Tuesday.

MP Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė is chair of the ruling Homeland Union-Lithuanian Christian Democrats (TS-LKD) group in the Seimas and Šilinskas had been deputy minister before the new appointment.
