New MP Jakavonytė sworn in

On Tuesday, Conservative Angelė Jakavonytė took oath as a member of Parliament at a Seimas plenary sitting. She replaced former MP Laima Liucija Andrikiene who was confirmed as a member of the European Court of Auditors by the Council of the European Union on Monday.

Prior to the new appointment, Jakavonytė, daughter of the well-known freedom fighter Juozas Jakavonis-Tigras, had worked as a member of the Vilnius City Council and chief specialist at the Ministry of Agriculture.
