Its figures show that some 700 medical workers were vaccinated by 5 p.m. on Sunday in Vilnius, 440 were vaccinated in Kaunas, 160 were vaccinated in Klaipeda, 120 were vaccinated in Siauliai and 850 people were vaccinated in Panevezys.
The procedure took place at 26 vaccination points, the ministry said.
On Sunday, hospitals in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Siauliai and Panevezys started the vaccination process at the same time, at 8 a.m.
Medical workers received the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine from COVID-19 after the first batch of 9,750 vaccine dozes was delivered to Lithuania early Saturday morning.
