“Lithuania and Belarus share a common history, close neighborly relations and active people-to-people contacts. Nuclear safety is the issue that I will keep raising on bilateral level in concern for the security of the Lithuanian people and the region. We are prepared to continue developing neighborly relations, both on the bilateral level as well as in the framework of relations between the EU and Belarus. I believe that we will constructively address the emerging challenges based on mutual respect and goodwill”, the President said in the message of congratulations.
The President expressed a conviction that the development path based on European values and international human rights is appropriate for Belarus as it would ensure the country’s long-term security and welfare.
