President-elect picks foreign policy and legal advisers

Lithuanian President-elect Gitanas Nauseda has picked Asta Skaisgiryte-Liauskiene as his foreign policy adviser, and Jurate Soviene, a deputy chairman of the country's Competition Council, as his adviser on legal affairs, several sources told BNS Lithuania.

Approached by BNS Lithuania, Nauseda's spokesman Aistis Zabarauskas refused to comment on the future team, saying that presidential advisers would be named before the president's inaugurations next week.

Skaisgiryte-Liauskiene has been working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1993 and she's served as a vice minister and ambassador to France and the UK over the course of her career and now serves as political director at the ministry.

Soviene has been working for the Competition Council since 2007 and her second terms set to expire in September. She's a deputy chair since 2013. Until then she worked as a lawyer at the Competition Council and a private company.
