Sources have told the news website Budrys’ candidacy could have been mentioned in Monday’s meeting between Nausėda and Gintautas Paluckas, Social Democrats’ candidate for prime minister.
Earlier reports suggested that Nausėda’s chief foreign policy adviser Asta Skaisgirytė and outgoing Ambassador to NATO Deividas Matulionis were seen as potential candidates to take the foreign minister’s post.
