President to meet with SocDem leader on Monday

President Gitanas Nausėda is set to meet with MEP Vilija Blinkevičiūtė, leader of the Social Democratic Party (LSDP), on Monday, an agenda published on the presidency’s website reveals.

The president’s office said Nausėda intends to meet with chairs of all parliamentary parties in the run-up to elections to the Seimas.

„The president’s meeting with Blinkevičiūtė, chair of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party, starts a series of meetings with heads of parliamentary parties as the Seimas elections near,“ Ridas Jasiulionis, the president’s adviser, told ELTA in a comment.

Lithuanians will go to the polls to elect the next 141-member Parliament on 13 October.
