The Prosecutor’s Office Police said it could not give any comments to prevent harm the ongoing pre-trial investigation. More detailed information is not available to at this stage, it said.
Germanas himself told Delfi the prosecutors’ move was news to him.
The man has recently been in the spotlight due to a scandal surrounding former social minister Monika Navickienė and her private trip to the UAE last year, first reported by 15min.lt news website.
Navickienė quit as minister of social security and labour in mid-June, after failing to say who covered her travel expenses. She travelled to Dubai last year together with her distant relative Ieva Trinkūnaitė, then owner of Foxpay fintech, and the latter’s partner Germanas, who had been convicted of financial fraud in the past. The Conservative politician later declared the trip was a gift.
