Recent street narrowing in Vilnius to stop, mayor-elect says

Vilnius mayor-elect Valdas Benkunskas says that the TS-LKD and the Freedom Party have different approaches regarding the “humanisation of streets”, but the Vilnius city municipality is set to focus on improving the streets in poor condition in the coming years.

On Monday, the two parties signed a coalition agreement on working in the city’s government.

“There are ideological similarities, and they are not necessarily identical one hundred percent. We have different priorities and, what I said both during the campaign and am saying now, is written in our coalition agreement. The municipality will be repairing surfaces of the streets in poor condition,” Benkunskas told the LRT public radio on Tuesday.
