Regions Party approves candidate list for parlt election

The Lithuanian Regions Party has approved a final list of its candidates for the upcoming elections to the Seimas, with chairman Jonas Pinskus in the top position. Širvintos Mayor Živilė Pinskuvienė, spouse of Pinskus, was ranked the last at the party’s board meeting on Friday.

The following top five candidates are current MPs Andrius Palionis, Laima Mogenienė and Andrius Mazuronis, ex-leader of the Labour Party, and Zenonas Vaigauskas, former long-standing chair of the Central Electoral Commission (from 1994 to 2017).

The party’s multi-member list also includes such well-known public figures and politicians as Zenonas Streikus, Antanas Vinkus, Vytautas Kamblevičius and Kristupas Krivickas.

Lithuanians will go to the polls to elect a 141-member Seimas on 13 October.
