Seimas approves proposal to increase fines for noise violations

After consideration, the Seimas of Lithuania approved the amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences to impose stricter fines on public peace disturbance, said parliament’s press service.

It is envisaged that a fine from EUR 20 to EUR 80 is replaced by a fine from EUR 80 to EUR 200 for shouting, whistling, loud singing, loud playing musical instruments or other audio devices on the streets, squares, parks, beaches, public transport, and other public areas as well as for the noise emitted in residential premises, companies, institutions
