On Thursday, 88 MPs voted in favour of his appointment, 34 voted against and 6 abstained.
As the Seimas has approved Paluckas’ candidacy, within 15 days he will have to present to parliament the Cabinet of Ministers confirmed by the president and to submit the Government’s programme for a vote.
On Thursday, a meeting between Paluckas and President Gitanas Nausėda is scheduled at the Presidential Palace.
The two met on Monday and discussed potential ministerial candidates.
