Seimas Speaker: Family Movement’s agenda has been exhausted

After Saturday’s rally of the Lithuanian Family Movement (Lietuvos šeimų sąjūdis), Parliament Speaker Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen says the organisation seems to have run out of ideas as proved by the declining attendance of its demonstrations.

Although a permit was issued for a rally of up to 15,000 participants in Vilnius, it is estimated that up to 1,000 people attended. Its organisers claimed that constitutional rights and freedoms are violated in Lithuania, that there is press censorship and dictatorship.
