The Cabinet modified the existing self-isolation procedure dropping the indicator of 25 coronavirus cases per 100,000 people, which had been applied until now, and ruled that the self-isolation requirement would only apply to people arriving from countries with the coronavirus incidence rate exceeding that in Lithuania by at least 10 percent.
The assessment of the necessity for those arriving from third countries to self-isolate would also include additional criteria, such as the scale of testing, the percentage of positive test results, availability of information and the indicator of hospitalizations in such states.
People arriving from the affected countries or those who have travelled through such countries before arrival are required to self-isolate for two weeks, with some exceptions.
The government has also decided to register, from now on, all participants of events, irrespective of their number. The list of events would also include city holidays and fairs. Until now, registration has only been mandatory for events attended by more than 300 people.
This measure would help trace contact persons and place them in self-isolation in case of an outbreak, Interior Minister Ritos Tamasuniene explained.
