Out of 516 migrants, 74 refused to have lunch on Saturday and 38 refused to have dinner, and some 200 did not have breakfast on Sunday morning, Giedrius Misutis, spokesman for the SBGS, said.
"They stay active during the night, until 4 or 5 in the morning, barbecue, socialize, play and move, and go to bed early in the morning, and breakfast starts at 8 so the majority of them don’t have breakfast. But later on, during lunch and dinner, they come to eat then," Misutis told BNS, adding that there's contact with migrants and they said it's not a hunger strike.
"The situation is stable. (…) Some 20 percent in fact never eat as they have money and eat what they like," he said.
The reason for non-eating could also be the fact that the presence of some migrants in Lithuania had been extended for another six months. As the number of such decisions is increasing, there might be more of discontent, Misutis said.
