The minister noted that 2024 and 2025 will be the peak years for military investment, and operating costs will continue to rise. The details are still to be agreed with the budgetary authority, he added.

Koo stressed that the budget is a clear indicator of Taiwan’s determination to defend itself and that a steady increase is necessary to meet defence needs.
