"In continuation of the long-standing initiative dedicated to Eastern Partnership countries and in a bid to support Belarusian students, Vytautas Magnus University will accept another 50 students from this country who feel unsafe in their homeland, are being persecuted for civic and political reasons and have been expelled from universities," the university announced on Wednesday.
VDU vows to cover the costs of studies for such students and establish and support fund.
Currently, around 50 Belarusian students are studying in this university.
The Lukashenko regime ordered to expel students and lecturers from universities after they went on strike in protests of the non-transparent presidential election results.
