Wastewater spilled into Baltic Sea after incident at water treatment facility in Latvian resort

On Sunday, an incident occurred at a wastewater treatment facility in Latvia’s resort town of Liepaja. Mayor of Liepaja, Gunārs Ansiņš, described the situation as serious on Monday after a wall of the facility collapsed a day earlier and some 1,250 cubic metres of untreated wastewater spilled into the Baltic Sea, reports delfi.lv.
