Arbatova on the future of Russia’s Eurasian project
37
At the Riga Conference 2014, The Lithuania Tribune spoke to Dr Nadezhda Arbatova, Head of the Department of European Political Studies at the Institute for World Economy and International Relations, Russian Academy of Science. We asked about Moscow's Eurasian project and its future. According to Arbatova, there is nothing wrong in regional cooperation, but every such project should be based on common economic interests. This project, however, would not help Russia to modernise, something that it needs most, Arbatova is convinced.
