Edward Lucas, an expert on Russia and the Baltic region, said this recently ‘We could have a sharp security crisis this fall in the Baltic states, and my worry is that I don’t think that at the moment either NATO or the Baltic states, other countries in the region or the United States are really ready to deal with that.’ U.S. Media reported that Pentagon plans storing machinery and some military equipment in the Central and Eastern European countries of NATO.
