Lukyanov on Russia’s plans towards Ukraine
45
The Lithuania Tribune spoke with Fedor Lukyanov, Editor-in-Chief of Russia in Global Affairs, at the Riga Conference 2014. Lukyanov says that the model of the post-Cold War period has been destroyed regardless of what is going to happen in Ukraine next. Russia and the West will need to find a completely new approach for living together in the future. That is a long-term problem, Lukyanov says. Despite all the drama, Ukraine is a short-term problem, since Russia has no big plans there. Russian leaders want to see Ukraine cut off from any Western affiliations, Lukyanov said to the Lithuania Tribune.
