Lukyanov: Russia has no grand plans for the Baltic states

The Lithuania Tribune spoke to Fedor Lukyanov, the Editor-in-Chief of Russia in Global Affairs, at the Riga Conference 2014. Lukyanov says that Russia's President Vladimir Putin has demonstrated that he is a calculating player. He would not dear to gamble on testing NATO's commitment to Article 5. While a tempting target, the Baltic states are of limited strategic importance to Russia, Lukyanov believes.
