According to opinion polls, the Lithuanian public is growing increasingly pessimistic about the country's economic outlook. This, says economist Žygimantas Mauricas, has a lot to do with the economic stand-off between the European Union and Russia as well as fears about the euro adoption.

African swine fever (ASF) was ascertained after testing samples of a hunted wild boar in Alytus district, the State Food and Veterinary Service (VMVT) has informed. This is the seventh ASF case in wild boar population in Lithuania and second in Alytus district this year detected in wild animals.
